"Granny Chic"

Last week I went shopping in Orange with my co-worker Hannah.
We were walking back to the car when we saw a really cute little shop and decided to stop in.
Best. Decision. Ever.

I managed to control myself (the shop was amazing) and only bought three things. The first was a beautiful White Tea and Thyme scented candle, the second was a book on handmade living and the third was "Granny Chic."

Granny Chic is awesome. It's a sweet little book filled with granny-style sewing and crocheting projects for your home. I've never really been that into granny style houses, but now I am more or less converted. I think granny-style elements through my house would look really sweet, but maybe not full on granny.
Am I making any sense?

Anyway, I love this little book so much I thought I'd share some pictures with you.

Note: I/Erin am not affiliated in any way with the title Granny Chic, it's publishers or authors, Tif Fussell and Rachelle Blondel. All images belong to the authors/publishers and I take no credit for them whatsoever. I was not paid or given any "gifts" for composing this post.

Sunshine

Yesterday I had an "early mark" from work. Instead of going home and moseying around all day, I decided to get out in the sunshine and enjoy my time off.
I hadn't been to the park for a while, so Stephen and I jumped in the car and drove down for a spot of lunch and some much needed basking in the sun (I'm pretty much an albino at the moment, even my boss told me I need to get out in the sun!)
I also managed to fit some time in for gardening and I rearranged and neatened up the house. The house was starting to feel a little stale and crowded, so (with the help of Stephen) I moved the furniture around to something a little more pleasing. I'm amazed at how much more spacious the house seems now.

Today I plan on doing some sewing, organising my gloves and scarves and just relaxing in general.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

A Typical Day

I've been wanting to do a "day in pictures" post for ages. I'd love to take some more pictures of things at work for you guys (because honestly who doesn't enjoy looking at beautiful french pastries) and I want to do an outfit post on the weekend, so keep your eyes peeled.

Breakfast time. Toast with homemade blackberry jam (my new favourite) and tea. I used to be one of those people who only ever had strawberry jam, but I've gotten a bit more adventurous over the year and have started to branch out.

Time to go to work. Oh, please ignore my filthy windows. I don't even understand how they get that dirty, I hardly touch the glass at all!

Yeah, I work with this every day.
Jealous?

Back home in the afternoon. Time to drink some tea and figure out the dimensions for the table runner I'm making.

Sit down to do some sewing. (This is one of the "panels" on my table runner.) Oh and yes, I am aware it's not finished yet ha-ha.
Sewing away happily until...

Kitty appears for some petting and a lap to sit on.

That's pretty much a typical day for me.
